NJ Cop Hit by Car While Wrestling With Suspect

Officer relased from hospital; suspect behind bars

A New Jersey police officer is recovering after being struck by a car while struggling with a suspect, according to Saddle Brook Police.

of the Rochelle Park Police department chased the burglary suspect into Saddle Brook, N.J. at about 1:30 am.

When he got out of his car to grab the suspect, the two struggled on the hood of the police car. A third car then struck the cruiser, injuring both the officer and the suspect and sending them to Hackensack University Medical Center.

Officer Urban, who suffered head, leg and arm injuries was released at about 4:30 a.m.

The suspect is behind bars awaiting charges. The driver of the third car was not hurt and will not be charged.
