New Year's Eve Ball to Go on Display

Now may be your chance to get a view of the Times Square New Year's Eve Ball before the world does.

The ball is slated to go on public display beginning Wednesday at Macy's in Herald Square.

Its "skin" is made of 672 Waterford crystal triangles. Each features a stylized, radiating sunburst. Double-cutting on both sides maximizes the light refraction.

It will be on display through Dec. 10.
