A Queens couple says five armed robbers burst into their apartment, forced one of them to the ground and stole their life savings earlier this month.
A 60-year-old woman and her husband say that the thieves stole $90,000 from a locked filing cabinet in their home on July 7, a police source tells NBC 4 New York.
According to the NYPD, the men burst into the apartment in the northern part of the borough that day, brandished a handgun and pinned the woman down. Some of the robbers then made for the cabinet in the couple's bedroom and stole the cash.
After the robbery, they left in a black SUV, police say.
The woman hurt her arm during the robbery, authorities say.
Anyone with information about the suspects is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-557-TIPS.
