A school bus with students on board brought down a utility pole before crashing into a cemetery fence in New Jersey.

The accident took place at the intersection of Birchwood Lane and Valley Road in Boonton Friday afternoon.

The bus was carrying 18 students, six of which were taken to nearby Morristown Medical Center, police say. The driver was taken to another hospital.

The students hospitalized are expected to be okay. The driver's condition is unknown.

Police say the bus left Rockaway Valley Elementary and only managed to get down the road, when it veered off the road and hit a power pole.

The students were taken off the bus immediately, transported onto another bus and taken back to the school.

Police are investigating whether the driver suffered a medical episode.

The bus was towed from the scene. Utility crews are working to get the downed pole back in place.
