Police: NJ Man Killed in Home by Stray Shot

New Brunswick police say 40-year-old Richard Chang was pronounced dead at his home Friday.

Authorities say a central New Jersey man died after being struck inside his townhome by a stray bullet.

New Brunswick police say 40-year-old city resident Richard Chang was pronounced dead at his home Friday afternoon, shortly after authorities received reports of shots fired in his neighborhood.

Middlesex County Prosecutor Bruce Kaplan says it's not yet known what sparked the gunfire or how many shooters may have been involved. But he says Chang, a married contractor, was not the intended target.

Chang was on the home's second floor when he was hit. But further details were not disclosed.

Authorities say no arrests had been made in the shooting as of Saturday.
