Armed, Masked Man Robs Nail Salons on Long Island: Police

The robber generally strikes around closing time, police say

Police on Long Island are warning nail salon owners of a serial armed robber targeting stores around closing time. 

Nassau County police say the masked robber has gone into nail salons between 6 to 8 p.m. on weekdays, showing a black handgun and demanding money before running away. 

The robber is described as a man between 40 to 60 years old, about 5 feet 3 inches to 5 feet 6 inches tall, with a thin build. He wears a mask or bandana to cover his face. 

Merchants are urged to pay attention during opening and closing hours and to call 911 immediately if they notice any suspicious persons or activity.
