Queens Man Jumps from No. 7 Tracks After Killing Wife: Cops

Both the man and his wife, whose names were not yet released, were taken to Elmhurst Hospital, where they were pronounced dead

A Queens man leaped to his death from the elevated No. 7 station after fatally stabbing his wife in front of their teenaged daughter, police and witnesses said.

Amis Cale, 41, stabbed his wife inside their apartment on 39th Street in Sunnyside during an argument around 8 a.m., Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said.

Their 19-year-old daughter awoke to her mother's screams, and saw her father standing over the bloodied body of 37-year-old Jennifer Cale before he ran from their Queens apartment.

Police say Amis Cale ran to a nearby subway stop, then threw himself from the train. He was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. Jennifer Cale was pronounced dead on arrival at a hospital.
