A 23-year-old man was hit and killed by an SUV in the Bronx on Monday morning, according to the NYPD.
Police were called to the scene at Bruckner Boulevard and East 149th Street at about 12:20 a.m. after getting calls about a car that had hit a person.
When officers arrived on scene they found the 23-year-old man and the white SUV that had hit him.
The man was taken to Lincoln Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities said that the man appears to have ignored crossing signals when he tried to cross the busy Port Morris street.
Police said it didn't appear that a crime was committed in the fatality.
