Mulchfest: NYC Helps Residents Recycle Christmas Trees

New York City residents looking for a way to put the holidays behind them are getting a little help disposing of their Christmas trees.

The city is holding its annual Mulchfest, which recycles the trees into mulch that's used in plantings around the boroughs.

Trees can be taken to drop-off sites around the city on Sunday, or locations where the actual mulching will take place.

Last year, more than 30,000 trees were turned in.
