State police say a motorcyclist and his passenger have been killed in an accident on the New York State Thruway in Orange County.
The accident happened at 1:10 a.m. Sunday near Exit 16 in Woodbury, about 50 miles north of New York City. Troopers say a Suzuki motorcycle driven by 23-year-old Rafaelito DeJesus of Valley Stream was struck by another vehicle while traveling north. DeJesus and his passenger, 25-year-old Melissa Rupa of Mineola, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the driver of the other vehicle faces charges of vehicular homicide and driving while intoxicated. His name and other details weren't immediately released Sunday afternoon.
