A 24-year old New Jersey mother of two was shot and killed late Monday night, officials said.
Bronique McCleod was shot while sitting inside a car on Hawthorne Avenue in Newark at approximately 11:30 p.m, authorities said. It was unclear where McCleod was hit. She died several hours later at University Hospital.
A 30-year-old male who was in the car with McCleod was also shot. His injuries are believed non-life threatening, prosecutors said.
A motive for the shooting remains unclear and there have been no arrests. An investigation is ongoing.
