Mother of 3 Falls to Her Death From Apartment Window in Harlem

Police are investigating the death of a woman who fell from a fifth-floor window of a Harlem housing development Saturday.

Quanneisha Baskerville stopped at her estranged boyfriend's home at the Martin Luther King Jr. Towers Saturday to drop off their three children, ages 4, 9 and 10, when his roommate called the police, the New York Times reports.

She was possibly violating a restraining order by being there. Baskerville had been facing assault charges after she was accused of kicking in the door of the boyfriend's apartment and later punching him.

Baskerville, 30, was allegedly in the bedroom with two of her children, while one child opened the door to let the officers inside, the Times reports.

The officers entered the apartment and spotted Baskerville hanging from the window ledge before she fell. A witness told the Times that police told her to come inside, and that she didn't have "do this."

Baskerville lived near her children’s father in another building within the same complex, the Times reports.

Police are investigating the death.
