A woman was arrested on Long Island for driving while intoxicated with her three children in the car Friday night, authorities said.
According to police, Eileen Danon, 43, rear-ended another car and fled the scene of the accident in Oceanside with her three children, ages 6, 9 and 11.
Danon and was apprehended by police a short time later after an officer spotted her car pulling into a driveway on Links Drive West.
Upon exiting her car, the officer determined that she was drunk and placed her under arrest. Her children were left at the scene with a neighbor, police said.
Danon was charged with three counts of aggravated driving while intoxicated, three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident without a report.
Information on an attorney for Danon was not immediately available.
