Model Slammed by Blogger Cries in Court

The model is suing Google to get the name of the blogger

A New York lawyer says a magazine model has no justification for trying to unmask the anonymous blogger who called her offensive names.

The blogger's lawyer, Anne Salisbury, agreed Wednesday that the comments about Liskula Cohen may be disgusting. But she said they're opinions protected as free speech.

Cohen's lawyer, Steven Wagner, said the model -- who has worked in Europe and the U.S. -- has been hurt professionally. He quoted from the "Skanks in NYC" Web site.

"How old is this skank? 40 something?" the blogger wrote. "She's a psychotic, lying, whoring, still going to clubs at her age, skank."

"Desperation seeps from her soul, if she even has one," the lawyer quoted from the site.

"I was hurt," the blonde beauty - who is 37 - said outside Manhattan Supreme Court.  She broke down in tears in court as the insults were read.

Cohen says the remarks about her hygiene and sexual habits were defamatory and malicious. Salisbury said no "reasonable" person would interpret them as fact.

The posts were on Google's Blogger.com. Attorney Joshua Plaut said Google will do whatever the court orders.

Manhattan Justice Joan Madden reserved decision.
