Medical examiners are investigating whether body found in a New Jersey river may be the fisherman missing for more than two weeks.
State Police tell the Asbury Park Press that the body was found late Monday afternoon in the Shrewsbury River. The body was taken to the Monmouth County medical examiner's office for an autopsy.
Fisherman Edward Broderick has been missing since Dec. 14 when his clamming boat sank.
A fellow fisherman believes Broderick's commercial boat flipped over in the Navesink River. The vessel was found submerged near a marina in Highlands that was Broderick's original destination.
An investigation into why the boat sank continues.
