NYC's Minetta Tavern Has One of America's Best Burgers: TIME

A longtime New York City steakhouse stands out among the nation's best burger joints, according to TIME.

The magazine listed the West Village's Minetta Tavern as one of the 10 best burger restaurants in America.

The list, published last week, cites the restaurant's signature Black Label Burger, made from dry-aged beef and topped with caramelized onions, as the restaurant's crown jewel.

It's not the first time Minetta Tavern has been lauded for its decadent burger -- the restaurant was named the best burger joint in America by Foursquare earlier this year, and it's a popular recommendation for many New Yorkers.

If you want to try one the other nine restaurants on the list, you won't have to go very far. Louis' Lunch, in New Haven, also made TIME's list.

Often cited as the birthplace of the hamburger, the Connecticut restaurant has been open since 1895.
