The roughly 700-square-foot one-bedroom unit has high ceilings, a sunken living room with exposed brick walls, large bay windows, and a decorative fireplace. Davis was known as a strong and welcoming presence on his stoop to his neighbors, according to a 2013 New York Times article.

Davis not only entertained fellow jazz friends like Herbie Hancock and Dizzy Gillespie at his home, but he also created well-known music for his albums, including "Kind of Blue" and "Bitches Brew" in his townhouse, the Times said.
