An SUV on a mechanical lift came crashing down onto another car in Downtown Brooklyn Thursday, jaw-dropping video shows.
The unusual chain-of-events happened on Livingston Street at around 7 p.m. The Department of Buildings says some sort of lift malfunction caused the SUV to come crashing down, damaging both cars.
The DOB and the FDNY spent hours at the parking garage trying to figure out how to get both vehicles down.
The DOB issued a violation to the building owner for failure to maintain the damaged vehicle lift. A full vacate order was issued for the entire property.
