Wig-Wearing Robber Makes Off With Hundreds of Pills, Thousands in Cash in Pharmacy Hold-Up in Queens: Police

The suspect ran off with 600 pills of Oxycodone, eight pint-sized bottles of Promethazine and nearly $4,000

An armed, curly-hair-wig-wearing man made off with hundreds of pain pills and thousands of dollars in cash from a drug store in Queens, according to the NYPD.

Police say the alleged robber walked into Aly-Marc Pharmacy in Jamaica Estates, pulled out a gun and pointed it at the 63-year-old pharmacist. He then dropped a bag on the counter and demanded Oxycodone and Promethazine.

The 20-something-year-old man then went behind the counter and forced the pharmacist to fill the bag up, police said. He then took 600 pills of Oxycodone, eight pint-sized bottles of Promethazine and nearly $4,000 in cash and ran out of the store, cops said.

Investigators released surveillance video of the suspect that shows him running down the stairs with the bag at the 179th Street Station and taking the wig off.

Witnesses are urged to call Crime Stoppers with tips.
