Man Wanted in 2 Manhattan Robberies Hit Woman with Gun: NYPD

Police say a man wanted in two armed robberies Saturday hit one of his victims in the head with his gun.

The man is accused of following the 26-year-old woman into her building on Hudson Street in the West Village around 3:30 a.m. and demanding her bag at gunpoint, the NYPD said.

Cops say he hit her in the head with the gun, took her bag and ran. The woman refused medical attention.

Just five minutes later, the suspect is accused of robbing an 18-year-old man on East 9th Street in Greenwich Village.

Police say the suspect got out of the passenger side of a small, light-colored SUB and engaged the victim in conversation. He then took out a silver gun and demanded the victim’s items. He took off with an LG cellphone, fleeing westbound on East 9th Street in the SUV.

The NYPD released surveillance video of the hooded suspect, who they say is between 18 and 25 years old. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
