Serial Burglar Targets Popular Restaurants, Shops Across Manhattan: NYPD

Police say they’re looking for a man who's allegedly been breaking into several popular restaurants and shops in Greenwich Village, Chelsea and Kips Bay, since last December, stealing up to thousands of dollars worth of goods from each location. 

The suspect broke into a hair salon at 47 Clinton St. on the Lower East Side in mid-December and took over $2,000 worth of hair equipment and supplies; the Blue Smoke restaurant on East 27th Street in Kips Bay on Dec. 16 and took nearly $600 worth of alcohol; and the Bazar Restaurant on West 26th Street in Chelsea on Dec. 22 and took nearly $300 worth of electronics, supplies and a drill. 

Then in January, the suspect began breaking into businesses in Greenwich Village, first hitting Quality Meats at 19 Greenwich Ave. on Jan. 9 by breaking in through basement and taking over $300 worth of alcohol; Next Cleaners at 50 Greenwich Ave. on Jan. 10 and stealing $400; and La Contenta Oeste restaurant at 78 West 11th St. on Jan. 20 and swiping $170 worth of alcohol.

The man wanted for questioning has been identified to be 30-40 years old. He was last seen wearing all dark clothing.
