Police are investigating after a Molotov cocktail was thrown into an occupied pickup truck in Harlem early Monday, engulfing the entire vehicle in flames and burning the driver's hands, officials said.

A man driving a 2003 Dodge Durango was waiting for a parking spot near Malcolm X Boulevard and West 112th Street in Harlem at around 4 a.m. when another man came by with a flaming plastic bottle and chucked it into the vehicle, police said.

The Durango caught fire, and the driver tried to put out the flames himself. By the time police arrived, the entire truck was in flames, according to police.

The driver was found outside the pickup with burns to his hands. He was taken to Harlem Hospital in stable condition.

No one has been arrested. The suspect is described as a man in his 30s, about 6 feet tall.
