Man Stabbed in Back and Hand on Sidewalk in Midtown: Police

A man was stabbed on a sidewalk in Manhattan Sunday night, authorities say.

Two men who knew each other got into an argument on 38th Street and Eighth Avenue in Midtown, police said. The disagreement escalated and one of the men stabbed the other in the lower back and right hand just after 8:30 p.m., police said.

The suspect then ran away.

The victim, who is 19 years old, is not likely to die, police said. He is listed in stable condition at the hospital.

No arrests have been made, but police said they are looking for a man in his 20s who may have a tattoo on his lower back.
