Bloody Teen Runs Into Bloomingdale's After Subway Slashing

A 16-year-old boy who was slashed on a Manhattan subway platform Wednesday ran into nearby Bloomingdale's, leaving behind a trail of blood, police say.

Police are searching for the person who slashed the boy in the face just after 7 p.m. on the R platform at the Lexington Avenue-59th Street station on the Upper East Side.

The boy was taken to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, where he remains in serious but stable condition.

Police are still investigating a motive for the attack. Detectives believe the suspect may be another teen who was arguing with the victim, authorities say. Police said the victim is not cooperating with them.

Detectives taped off the platform as they looked for evidence Wednesday night.
