Muggers Slash 25-Year-Old Man When He Tries to Get His Stolen Cellphone Back: NYPD

A 25-year-old man was slashed by a group of muggers when he tried to get his stolen cellphone back on a Brooklyn street early Monday morning, police say.

The victim was robbed of his cellphone by three men in Williamsburg at about 2 a.m., and when he went after them to try to get his phone back on the corner of Berry and North Fifth streets, the suspects slashed him in the back and chest, police said.

They left him bleeding on the street as they fled.

Neighbor Kimberly Cirillo has lived on the Brooklyn block for 34 years and said this was the first vicious attack she could recall outside her front door.

"When I came outside and I looked, I was just devastated," she said. "I have three young daughters and I was just -- it wasn't a pleasant sight to see."

Police are looking for three men believed to be driving a silver car, possibly a Ford Taurus.
