A customer who tried to stop a shoplifter was slashed in the arm at a pharmacy in Columbus Circle on Sunday morning, police said.
The attacker was shoplifting at a Rite Aid, police said.
As he tried to flee, a store employee yelled at him to stop. A customer tried to stop the man, but he was slashed in the arm.
The good Samaritan was taken to a local hospital and was in stable condition, police said. No arrests have been made.
Another slashing occurred Sunday morning on the 5 train in midtown. The woman was taken into police custody.
