Stranger Smacks Woman on Queens Street, Then Punches Elderly Man Minutes Later: NYPD

Police are searching for a brazen attacker who slapped an 18-year-old woman in the face, then punched an 85-year-old man in the face minutes later on a Queens street.

The unknown suspect approached the teen at random and slapped her in the face with an open hand near 37th Avenue and 86th Street at 12:50 p.m. Thursday, police said. She suffered pain and redness to her face, but refused medical attention at the scene.

About fifteen minutes later, he punched the elderly man in the left side of his face three blocks down on 83rd Street before he fled, according to authorities. The victim suffered redness, swelling, bruising and a small cut on his face. Paramedics rushed him to Elmhurst Hospital in stable condition.

Police say the suspect was last seen wearing a blue-and-white checkered shirt and dark pants.

The NYPD is asking anyone with information regarding the assault to call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS or submit their tips on the Crime Stoppers website.
