Man Shot by NYC Cops Arrested on Menacing, Weapons Charges

Police say a man who was shot and wounded by officers when he pulled a gun on them in Brooklyn has been arrested on menacing and criminal possession of a weapon charges.

Police identified the suspect as Zaquan Footman, of Brooklyn. Information on his lawyer was not immediately available.

The shooting happened Tuesday afternoon at a public housing complex when officers tried to arrest the suspect's friend for a low-level warrant. Police say Footman pulled a gun out of his waistband. That's when three of the officers discharged their weapons.

Footman was shot in the hand and ran into an apartment building where he was later taken into custody. The officers were not injured.
