Man Shot 10 Times Accused of Murdering Neighbor, Her Son in NYC

Anthony Morales is charged in the March 24 deaths of a neighbor, Idelle Rivera, and her 21-year-old son, Anthony Rivera

A man shot by law enforcement during his arrest in Pennsylvania has been indicted on murder charges in New York, authorities say.

Anthony Morales is charged in the March 24 deaths of a neighbor, Idelle Rivera, and her 21-year-old son, Anthony Rivera, according to the Staten Island Advance. He's also accused of wounding the son's friend, who was shot nine times.

New York City police said Morales was shot 10 times on March 28 in Hamburg, Pennsylvania, when he ignored repeated commands to put his hands up and brandished a gun.

Morales is scheduled for a June 22 arraignment on the indictment. He previously pleaded not guilty to arrest charges.

His attorney, Mark J. Fonte, declined to comment on Wednesday.
