A man died after being shot in the head in New Jersey early Friday, police say.
The shooting happened near the The Boulevard nightclub in Newark, authorities said.
It wasn't immediately clear whether the victim was shot inside the bar or in a parking lot near the intersection of Mulberry and Oliver streets. However, there were several evidence markers in the parking lot. Detectives were also seen in the parking lot looking into cars with flashlights early Friday morning.
It was not immediately clear if anyone was in custody or what lead to the shooting.
The prosecutor's office is heading the investigation.
