Police are looking for a man they say followed a woman into an elevator at a Bronx apartment building and took her wallet at knifepoint.
The man followed the 46-year-old woman into the elevator at the building on Westchester Avenue on July 8 around 10:45 p.m., the NYPD said.
The man took out a knife and demanded the woman’s wallet. After a brief struggle, he was able to get the woman’s wallet, which contained cash and credit cards.
The victim, who was uninjured, got off the elevator on an upper floor while the suspect stayed inside and eventually fled.
Police released a video of the suspect (above). Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
