Man Punches Woman on Train, Steals Wallet: NYPD

A man on a southbound 6 train walked to up to a woman last month in the Bronx and punched her several times before taking her wallet, police say.

On March 21 shortly after midnight, the suspect got on the train at the Longwood Avenue station in Hunts Point, according to the NYPD.

The man walked up to the woman and punched her in the face several times before taking her wallet, which had about $500 in it, authorities said.

He then got off the train at the East 149th St. Station and ran away, officials said.

The victim suffered swelling in his face and was treated at the scene before refusing further treatment, police said.

The NYPD said the suspect wanted for questioning in connection with the robbery is Carl Small, 47.
