Man Stalks Woman, Pins Her to the Ground And Tries to Rape Her: Police

A man riding the subway in Brooklyn stalked and followed a woman off the train last week, pinned her down and tried to rape her, police say.

On Friday just after 4 a.m., the man walked up to the 39-year-old woman on a southbound N train and began talking to her and eventually groped the woman’s body, according to the NYPD.

When the train stopped at the Bay Parkway station in Bensonhurst, the woman got off, but the suspect followed her outside, authorities said.

He continued to try and talk with the woman as she walked away, officials said. The suspect then wrapped his arms around the woman and tried to drag her down, police said.

The victim and the suspect struggled and both fell to the ground during the tussle, authorities said.

The man then climbed on top of the woman, pinning her arms down and tried to rape her, police said.

The woman yelled out for help, frightening the man and forcing him to run away, officials said.

Police on Wednesday night released surveillance video and pictures of the 20-something-year-old suspect in hopes of identifying the man.
