Man Sexually Attacked 2 Sleeping Straphangers in Same Morning: Police

Police say they have charged a homeless man with sexually attacking two sleeping subway riders in the same morning over the weekend.

Michael Baskerville, 28, was arrested at the 241st Street stop in Wakefield after police say they searched the train and found him allegedly touching a man’s groin over his pants.

The NYPD says early Saturday a man came running off an uptown 5 train in the Bronx where he told police he woke up to a man performing oral sex on him. Officials say he told police the suspect was still on the train and was wearing a hoodie.

That is when officers began to search the train and found the man, allegedly Baskerville, who was then arrested.

Police say they woke up the second sleeping victim and asked if he knew the suspect, but he said he didn’t. Officials said they then asked if he was missing anything and the victim said his iPhone, headphones and wallet were gone.

Baskerville was charged with criminal sex act and robbery, according to police.

The first victim was taken to an area hospital, where he was treated and released. The second victim did not go to the hospital, according to police.

Authorities said he has two prior arrests. It wasn’t immediately clear if he has an attorney who could comment on the allegations against him.
