A man who fled on foot during a traffic stop and dropped a gun led police on a chase Saturday through a Connecticut neighborhood's backyards before he was finally found hiding in a shed, police said.
The suspect was caught by a K-9 unit and was injured by the dog, police said. He was being treated at a hospital.
Police are still investigating the suspect's identity and why he fled when officer Taylor Field tried to stop his vehicle on Bridge Street in Westport.
He dropped a gun near an apartment complex, police said, and officers alerted residents of the danger using the "code red" system.
A K-9 unit tracked the suspect and lead officers through the backyards of the neighborhood. After about an hour, he was found in the shed of a backyard of a home on Keyser Road, police said.
