A man who stabbed his Westchester mother to death has been sentenced to 25 years in prison.

Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino Jr. announced the sentencing Wednesday of Andre Coverdale.

He killed his mother, Dawne McCray, in January 2016 at her Yonkers home then asked a security guard to call police.

Officers found McCray in her bed with stab wounds to the face and neck, which cut through a major artery.
