A New York man who spent 24 years in prison has been freed after a judge overturned his conviction.
Shawn Williams, 41, walked free on Friday after prosecutors in Brooklyn joined a defense motion asking the judge set aside Williams' conviction, the New York Post reports.
It was the 14th overturned conviction linked to retired Detective Louis Scarcella.
Scarcella has faced allegations of misconduct by numerous since-freed people he helped convict.
Williams was convicted in 1994 in the fatal shooting of his neighbor Marvin Mason.
The sole eyewitness recanted her testimony in 2013. She said she had been coerced into naming Williams as the gunman by Scarcella.
Williams said Friday that he was framed for the murder of his childhood friend.
