Man, Dog Killed in 3-Vehicle Crash in New Jersey: Prosecutor

A New Jersey man and a dog were killed in a three-vehicle collision, authorities say.

Wade Henson Jr., 71, was heading east on Route 33 in Tinton Falls shortly before 9 p.m. Friday when he was hit from behind by a pickup truck, the Monmouth County prosecutor's office said.

His car was then pushed into oncoming traffic and hit by a sport utility vehicle, officials said. Henson was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after 10 p.m. Friday.

A large dog in Henson's car was pronounced dead at the scene, prosecutors said. The SUV driver was treated for minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
