Man Buying MetroCard Fights Off Pair of Robbers in the Bronx: NYPD

A man buying a MetroCard from a station machine in the Bronx last month fought off two men who beat up him and tried robbing him, police say.

On April 3, just after 11 p.m., a 20-year-old man was at the MetroCard vending machine inside the 4 train subway station on Kingsbridge Road in Fordham when two men walked up to him, according to the NYPD.

The men punched the victim in the face several times and tried stealing from him, authorities said.

The victim successfully fought off the unknown men and then ran away, officials said.

The duo didn’t chase after him, and also ran away from the subway stop, police said.

Authorities on Tuesday night released surveillance footage of the pair in hopes of catching them.
