Man Arrested, Woman Sought in Manhattan Subway Slashing: Police

Police arrested a man, but are still looking for a woman following a slashing attack at a Manhattan subway station, officials say.

Albert Vega, 29, of Brooklyn, cut a man with a sharp object at the Penn Station subway stop just after 3 a.m. after an argument turned physical, according to the NYPD. The victim was slashed on the left side of his face.

After the 35-year-old man was cut, Vega ran away, authorities said. Police Thursday morning said he was arrested and charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

Police said they are still looking for a woman who was with Vega at the time of the slashing.

The victim was treated at an area hospital.
