Police say they've arrested a man on murder and weapons charges in the deadly shooting of a Brooklyn teen last month.

Martal C. Amilcar, 20, of Brooklyn, was arrested Tuesday in the death of 15-year-old Samuel Joseph, who was shot in the head and torso in front of his building on Flatbush Avenue on Feb. 22.

Amilcar faces chaarges of second-degree murder and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. It wasn't immediately clear if he had an attorney.

Police haven't said whether Amilcar knew Joseph, or what the motive was, if any.

Family members said Samuel was on his way to the grocery store when he was gunned down.

“He was a good kid," said Don Joseph, the victim's brother. "He’s not a gang member or in any type a situation that would cause that.”

Samuel was described as an "inspiration" to his neighbors and a regular at the YMCA where he played basketball with other kids.

Police said Amilcar and another person were caught on surveillance photos and video near the scene.

They were believed to have arrived and fled in a car, police said.
