Police have arrested a Long Island man on drunken driving charges after he allegedly struck his 13-year-old stepson and broke his leg while the boy was walking his dog near their home.
Another stepson, who's 9, was a passenger in the car and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Suffolk County police say Scott Lipton was due in court Tuesday to face charges including aggravated driving while intoxicated and child endangerment. The name of his lawyer was not immediately available.
Police say Lipton was driving his 2017 Jaguar when he hit the teenager and then a pole. The crash happened on Long Island shortly before 6 p.m. Monday.
Lipton and the dog were not injured.
