Man Accused of DWI in Motorcycle Crash That Killed His Wife

A 26-year-old man was arrested on a DWI charge in a Long Island motorcycle accident that killed his wife.

Authorities say Michael Proctor was driving a 2000 Kawasaki motorcycle eastbound on Sunrise Highway in West Islip early Sunday when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed.

His wife, 26-year-old Megan Proctor, was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Michael Proctor was also taken to the hospital, where he is being treated for life-threatening injuries. He was expected to be arraigned Tuesday from his hospital bed. It wasn't clear if he had an attorney.

The motorcycle was impounded for a safety check.
