Suspect Charged in Stabbing Death of Man at Bronx Party

A Bronx man faces a murder charge accusing him of fatally stabbing of a 30-year-old man during a dispute early Sunday at a Bronx party, police said.

Julian Washington was stabbed in the neck and torso at a party on Westchester Avenue in the Woodstock neighborhood, police said.

The victim had argued with Vernon Hubbard, 35, about a "dance battle" involving Washington's sister, investigators said.

First responders were called to the scene shortly after midnight and the Manhattan man was brought to Lincoln Medical Center, where he was declared dead.

About 12 hours later, police charged Hubbard with second-degree murder, manslaughter and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
