Man, 23, Shot on Bronx Street Corner While Waiting for Friend: NYPD

A 23-year-old man was shot on a Bronx street corner while he was waiting for his friend on Sunday and police are now searching for a suspect.

The victim was standing on the corner of Prospect Avenue and Longwood Avenue just before midnight when a man he didn’t know approached him from behind and shot at him several times, the NYPD said.

The suspect ran southbound on Prospect Avenue toward Macy Place.

The victim sustained gunshot wounds to his buttocks and left leg, and a graze wound to his left arm. He was taken to Lincoln Hospital where he was in stable condition.

The suspect was last seen wearing a gray long-sleeved shirt, camouflage shorts, black sneakers and a white t-shirt wrapped around his head. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
