NYC Fourth of July Fireworks to Be on East River

New York City's Fourth of July fireworks show will once again be on the East River.

Mayor de Blasio and Macy's announced Wednesday that the fireworks will blast off from barges in two locations on the East River.

The celebration returned to the East River in 2014 after several years on the Hudson River between Manhattan and New Jersey.

More than 40,000 pyrotechnic shells will be launched during a 25-minute display.

One barge will be south of the Brooklyn Bridge. There will be a group of four barges afloat near midtown Manhattan.
