Long Island Woman Charged with Aggravated DWI: Police

A Long Island woman faces charges accusing her of driving while intoxicated with her 5-year-old daughter in the car, police said Sunday.

A motorist who followed the woman as she pulled into the parking lot of a supermarket in Ronkonkoma at about 5 p.m. Saturday called police to report that she was driving intoxicated.

Suffolk County police responded to the scene and saw Justine Connors, 30, of Holtsville, exit the store and enter her car. They stopped her and determined that she had been drinking, investigators said.

Connors was charged with aggravated DWI because her daughter was in the car. She was also charged with endangering the welfare of a child and violating a protection order prohibiting her from being under the influence of alcohol in the presence of her daughter.

Connors was also charged with petit larceny for allegedly shoplifting at the supermarket.

There was no indication she had retained a lawyer who could comment on the charges.
