LI Police: Woman Driving Shooting Victim Crashes

Police say 21-year-old Nyasha Hunter was under the influence.

Police on Long Island say a suspected drunken driver crashed her car as she was driving a shooting victim to the hospital.

Suffolk County police say the incident started with a fight outside a bar in East Islip early Saturday.
    
Shots were fired at 3:10 a.m. and struck 24-year-old Jovan Bailey multiple times.
    
Police say 21-year-old Nyasha Hunter tried to drive Bailey to the hospital but crashed into a guardrail.
    
Hunter, Bailey and two other passengers were all taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore. Bailey is in serious condition. The others were treated for minor injuries.
    
Hunter was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated. No information on an attorney was immediately available.
