2nd Counselor at Long Island Camp Arrested on Sex Abuse Charges

A counselor at a Long Island camp is facing charges he sexually abused children there, the second time an employee there has been accused of preying on kids.

Jay Marcello, a counselor at Kenwal summer camp, is accused of sexually abusing eight boys under the age of 16. Prosecutors say he touched the campers inappropriately and sent the boys explicit messages on social media sites.

His lawyer says his client will fight the charges.

Marcello's parents offered no comment in the court after he pleaded not guilty.

There's no evidence of any connection between Marcello and fellow counselor Keith Meyn, who was arrested last October on sex abuse and child porn charges.

Kenwal released a statement saying in part, "All our staff are carefully screened by every acceptable method available to us."
