Creepy Long-Haired Suspect Locks Woman, Man in Closet While Robbing Them

The suspect targeted two residents at their Hillsborough Township home

A man armed with a hammer who wore his long hair hanging over his face locked an elderly woman and another man in a closet at their New Jersey home and left them there for hours after robbing them, police said.

The suspect somehow got into the Hillsborough Township home on Sunnymeade Road at about 10:30 a.m. on Dec. 7, and demanded money from the 80-year-old woman and 57-year-old man while beating them with the hammer.

Police say he then locked them in a bedroom closet and fled in their car.

About six hours later, the victims were able to get out and call police. A police sketch of the suspect shows him with hair obscuring his face.

The car was found near a train station in Raritan.

Police ask anyone with information about the suspect or the crime to call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-577-TIPS.
